3 Effective Ways Niche Authors Maintain Focus

Authors who work in a niche market can’t afford to lose focus of goals. Your efforts are only successful when you get the desired results. To get rich in a niche, you have to make sales. For example, meeting and greeting is nice and it has its benefits, but creating a point of sale counts. Learn how to protect your time and do what is critical to attract your market and entice customers to buy. It’s not easy to convince others that you are the expert. However, the successful niche marketer isn’t be easily distracted. The market is so small and every move counts. Intense focus means not giving up when:

1. Tried and true marketing efforts don’t work-You may have to create your own marketing plan by becoming a presence by going places your market frequents such as professional events, websites, link exchanges and social networking sites. Then invite them to your website. The marketing plan should be flexible and have a backup in place when you miss the mark.
Contact information may be hard to come by. Experiment and keep trying different ways to get contact information. Continuously discover new ways of identifying your specific market from the crowd of faces. You want your efforts to attract buyers or influencers.

2. Writing ideas come slow-you’ve got to be committed to getting the
message out regularly and timely. Blogs, newsletters, and posts on social
network sites help get your message out. You just need a few hundred words about your topic. Go too long without input and people begin to forget about you. You want to stay in the front of your customers’ minds. If they don’t remember you, they won’t buy from you or refer you to others.

3. Sales begin to wane-You’ll have peak months where you celebrate, but there will be many where your products don’t sell. You may chose to sit it out and see what happens next. But that would jeopardize your sales. It’s important to understand why sales are declining and prepare for such events. Are your articles on point? Has your website lost positioning on Google? Have other niche related books exceeded your success on Amazon? I’ll show you how to prevent or counter such occurrences and be ready to win in your market.

When you are zeroed in on a goal, your purpose is effortlessly committed
to reaching it. This requires a good plan with measurable milestones.
Without an agenda, you may wander off the successful path and
become quickly lost and tangled up in a jungle of ineffective actions.

For example, if you know that going to a professional seminar will produce
leads for your newsletter or products, then go with the goal in mind of introducing yourself and collecting as many business cards as possible. If you are setting up a booth to sell books, then your goal may be to hold discussions of the benefit of your books and products and get a response. Both examples can easily become expensive failures if you do not engage potential customers in the right call to action activities. Wasting time at the buffet table or engaging in non productive conversations is the sign of a lack of a plan.

How will you publish your book

You can publish your book yourself, or publish with others. There are so many options available depending on how much work you want to put into the process. Writing a book is a great experience that can help you further your business opportunities. Publishing with it’s many requirements and resources could prove to be more work than you want to do, especially if writing is not our primary business.   Self-publishing provides an increasingly valuable method of getting information to your audience. With self-publishing, you can write, outsource the printing, and market your book while controlling the process. This type of publishing can be done with very little money up front and, if done right, creates a great source of revenue. If you plan to self-publish, you will need some basic items and information. Books should have copyright protection and each book sold through distribution channels will need International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN). However, with Kindle Direct Publishing (K

Self-Publishers, Pay Attention to Detail

CreateSpace is an excellent self-publishing solution. I primarily use Lightning Source for most of my publishing needs, but there are some advantages of printing with CreateSpace as well. Primarily, books are listed “in stock” at Amazon.com and CreateSpace stores if printed with CreateSpace. My Lightning Source books are available on Amazon.com but usually not listed “in stock”. Thus, I often make my books available for print with both Lightning Source and CreateSpace. If you chose to use one or the other, or both, make sure your title information, ISBN and other book administrative details are accurate and listed the same in both venues. Without that level of detail, your book manuscript and cover submissions may not be approved. Additionally, if you try to link your printed book with an Amazon.com Kindle version, or your paperback with your hardback version, it may prove difficult if title information details vary too greatly. For example, my manuscript is entitled Red Bike Publis

LCCN, PCN or CIP? How to Catalog Your Self-Published book

Catalog options mentioned here are available only to United States  (US) publishers with offices and staff in the US who are available to answer  bibliographic questions about their books. The Library of Congress  Control Number (LCCN) Catalog in Publication (CIP) are two  well known catalog systems. The CIP provides free distribution of prepublished and further distribution of completely published books to libraries  and book vendors world-wide. The PCN provides an abbreviated  record but is not further disseminated to libraries on the same scale  as the CIP. Here is a secret. This book is primarily written for nonfiction authors  who want to self-publish a professional book available to specialized  organizations or professionals. It will most likely be available through  Amazon.com and other on-line bookstores and distributors. This is  the widest distribution effort and your best marketing source. You will  most likely use print on demand and rely on word of mouth, social ne
