Two Ways to Track Niche Marketing Success

Self-publishing can be very rewarding, but success can be hard to measure. In a niche industry it is important to keep expectations in perspective. There is really no need to market, advertise or brand unless you have a genuine way to discover how many people are buying your product and they are coming from. The following are two great ways to measure your marketing and sales success.
1.  www.google.com/analytics-Create or sign into your Google account. You already have one if you have Gmail or use blogger.com/blogspot.com. If at all possible, try to use the same account for Gmail, blogger, analytics, adwords and all Google applications. I did not do so and now have to log into several different accounts to get all of my data. There’s no way to change it once you do.
Analytics provides great traffic data. It reports audience detail, advertising information (if you use advertising), traffic sources, what folks are viewing, how they found your sight, what keywords they searched to find your site, which websites referred them, what they did once they found your site and much more. You can even set goals such as sales and newsletter sign up goals.
2. www.blogger.com-Blogspot.com/blogger.com reports valuable blog statistics. As an added feature, you can view these statistics directly on the main page. You can see how many page visits were made and how many comments were left by post. You can also view information on how viewers found your site.
Use these statistics to discover information on how people found your websites and blogs. If some titles are more popular than others, take advantage on the more popular topics to draw more responses. Learn the habits of those who view your site so you can lure more in. You never know who you are going to help.

How will you publish your book

You can publish your book yourself, or publish with others. There are so many options available depending on how much work you want to put into the process. Writing a book is a great experience that can help you further your business opportunities. Publishing with it’s many requirements and resources could prove to be more work than you want to do, especially if writing is not our primary business.   Self-publishing provides an increasingly valuable method of getting information to your audience. With self-publishing, you can write, outsource the printing, and market your book while controlling the process. This type of publishing can be done with very little money up front and, if done right, creates a great source of revenue. If you plan to self-publish, you will need some basic items and information. Books should have copyright protection and each book sold through distribution channels will need International Standard Book Numbers (ISBN). However, with Kindle Direct Publ...

Repurpose your old books.

www.redbikepublishing.com Hi everybody, If you are like me, you are working from home during this quarantine. For me that means working my day job at my kitchen table, and my Red Bike Publishing work in my study. Two different computer; two different rooms. I am currently republishing old books and slowing working on new ones. My main purpose is to use my security books to lead people to my newsletter and security training. This is a common practice for those who want to use their books as a business card. The books sold on Amazon.com have a call to action for them to engage with the author. That way when someone buys the book, they can also have a chance to learn more about the author or get more training. This has worked well for my security clearance books AND self publishing books. Are you planning on the same thing with your books? It even works for fiction. I know people who have used their novels to get people to join their newsletters for the following ideas and more. Futu...

Using a book to promote your business and vice versa.

A book is a great way to start a business, develop a business or market a business. Many people struggle with what to focus on as a book topic or a business.  They wonder what they should write about, what business they should focus on, how to market the book or the business, where to start, and how to grow. Perhaps this is your journey. If so welcome to the club. One of the most difficult tasks is settling on a topic, niche or business idea. It's important to understand where your expertise lies and how to reach others with your solution. I've always been an advocate of teaching and writing and learned there lies the core of my potential business competency. I wrote my first book on the subject of teaching others how to prepare for a certification. Whether you already have a business, want to learn how to start a business, or have a book, it's important to learn how to market your capability. I always say that one of the best ways to start a newsletter appropriate for your...
